With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Catherine Lee is a leading Craniofacial Orthodontist known for her specialized care in treating children with cleft and craniofacial deformities. Spending her formative years in Australia, Dr. Lee graduated with a dentistry degree from Adelaide University and honed her skills at Sydney Westmead Hospital, as well as in various private practices across Sydney’s City and North Shore.
In 2001, Dr. Lee relocated to Singapore, where she established her orthodontic practice in 2002. She later expanded her reach with a satellite clinic in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, broadening her impact on patients throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Dr. Lee’s dedication to orthodontics led her to New York City for postgraduate training at New York University (NYU), where she earned recognition as an American-trained specialist. Her passion for advanced care took her further into the field of cleft-craniofacial surgical orthodontics through a prestigious fellowship at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery (IRPS) at NYU School of Medicine—an institution renowned for its innovative surgical methodologies. Throughout her time there, Dr. Lee contributed significantly to the field, authoring a series of influential scientific papers (see below).
Currently, Dr. Lee serves as a Visiting Consultant at Singapore General Hospital and the National University of Singapore, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for cleft lip and palate, as well as craniofacial patients across the Asia-Pacific region. As a Peer Reviewer for The Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery, she upholds the highest standards of evidence-based practice.
Dr. Lee is also deeply committed to humanitarian efforts. As the Patron and Medical Director of the Cleft Care Indonesia Foundation, she leverages her expertise to improve care for underprivileged children with cleft lip and palate in Indonesia. Her exemplary contributions have earned her significant recognition, including the title of Global Australian GameChanger in 2023 from the Commonwealth Government of Australia and a nomination for the Australian Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Adelaide in December 2021.
A forward-thinking practitioner, Dr. Lee embraces advancements in digital orthodontics. She was honored to speak at the Invisalign® Asia-Pacific Summit in 2018, highlighting her contributions to the evolving landscape of orthodontic science. Additionally, she serves on the CORE ClearCorrect™ Global Advisory Board, collaborating with a leading organization in dental innovation.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Lee is a passionate advocate for environmental sustainability, having championed green practices since her teenage years. She actively promotes recycling and upcycling to reduce the carbon footprint, consistently seeking creative ways to minimize waste in her clinic operations and daily life. An animal lover at heart, she enjoys caring for rescued animals and nurturing her plants. Dr. Lee also cherishes her interactions with geriatric patients, finding joy in the meaningful conversations she shares with them.

Dr. Lee is currently also a member of four multi-disciplinary teams, providing care for cleft-lip and palate, and cranio-facial patients around the Asia – Pacific region.
